The BROOKSIDE ART FAIR… where a sense of community, fun, and art come together.

February1

I will be in Kansas City again this spring, April 30 – May 2, for the 25th Annual Brookside Art Fair www.brooksidekc.org. We all have our favorites, and Brookside is one of mine.  This will be my eleventh year in a row at the fair.  Providing they are willing to have me in the show, I never miss it.  There are several good outdoor art fairs held in the Kansas City area each year.  I have done most all of them at one time or another.  Brookside is the one that you do not want to miss.   Personally speaking, the Brookside show has a community flair that I like when compared to other Kansas City shows.  The Plaza Art Fair, which is held in the fall, is the other highly respected Kansas City show.    Both the Plaza and Brookside are equally stunning shows with high caliber artists.  I prefer doing Brookside because I can show my reproductions along with my original paintings.  Painters are not allowed to show reproductions of their originals at the Plaza show, held annually each September.  Showing limited edition reproductions offers a more varied assortment of price points for the discriminating customer who is looking for two-dimensional wall art.  Call it only an opinion, but I feel that visitors can see the same caliber artwork at either show, yet; Brookside offers better price points to buyers.  I like that.

Another thing I like about the Brookside show is the feeling of community.  It is a big neighborhood party.  It is a place to see old friends and enjoy visually stimulating artwork along with a glass of vino.  Don’t miss opening night.

The show is set up partially under large tents that offer shelter in any kind of weather.  It is only a step away from neighboring Brookside shops and restaurants. This is a family event, not to be missed if you live anywhere near Kanas City.  Check it out.  You will not come away dissapointed.

In addition to hosting a great art fair, Brookside also has some unique shops that are worth exploring. I profiled several of those shops recently on my blog. In fact, we are currently hosting a giveaway of some wonderful items from STUFF, one of those Brookside shops. Check it out but hurry because registration for the giveaway ends April 29!
